Hockey World Cup 2023 Inaugurated At Barabati Stadium

Cuttack: FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup- 2023 has been inaugurated on Wednesday evening at Cuttack’s Barabati Stadium.

Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Anurag Thakur, and Odisha Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik among others declared the world event inaugurated, amid magnificent celebrations in Cuttack.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik greeted international hockey teams, dignitaries and guests who have come to Odisha for the FIH Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023.

Addressing a massive audience at Barabati Stadium, Naveen said, “Odisha is known for its hospitality. I am sure all the visitors will take a little part of Odisha home, with them.”

The CM thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government for all its support in organising the grand international event which is being hosted by Odisha for the second time in a row.

Worth Mentioning, the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup is scheduled to begin on January 13, which would be played at Bhubaneswar Kalinga Stadium and Birsa Munda Stadium in the Steel City Rourkela. As many as 16 international teams from across the world are participating in the event, here in Odisha.
