Jatani Man Gets His Rs 22K Back From Cyberfraudster’s Trap

Bhubaneswar: A man from Jatani got back Rs. 22,000 by avoiding cyber fraud. While the incident has become a topic of discussion in Jatani, the cyber police station is in contact with Loknath to investigate more about the incident.

According to information, Loknath’s salary money was deposited in his bank account on the 24th August.

He tried to send it home via phone pay as usual. But because of the problem, he searched the customer care number on Google and called it. He wasn’t aware that the said number belonged to a cyber fraudster. After receiving the call, the fraudster asked him to download AnyDesk, Dhani, Omnicut, or the Customer Register app, After Loknath downloaded AnyDesk. And later the fraudster asked him for his Aadhaar and PAN card numbers.

Later, Loknath saw that his phonepe account and his Axis Bank account had been blocked. Even his  22 thousand has been transferred to IDBI Bank. But it was on hold. Loknath realized that he was trapped in the web of cyber fraud. But luckily the money was on hold. Loknath called the fraudster and asked him to return the money transferred from the IDBI account to the Axis Bank account.

The fraudster trusted him and returned the money to the Axis Bank account. Later, Loknath asked the cyber crook to unlock the UPI account. While unlocking the said account, Loknath simultaneously transferred all the money in the account to his brothers and relatives accounts.
