Jharsuguda: 3 charred to death, 3 injured as truck catches fire after collision

Jharsuguda: Three drivers were charred to death after trucks caught fire following an accident near Sadar police station on NH 49 in Jahrsuguda on Wednesday late night.

Three persons were also injured in the accident and they have been admitted to the hospital.

According to sources, the mishap took place when a coal-laden truck was heading towards Jharsuguda. Suddenly two other trucks came from the opposite direction, following which, the coal-laden truck driver lost his control of the wheels and collided with the other trucks.

The impact of the collision was so high that the inflammable materials inside the truck caught fire and three drivers were charred to death.

Fortunately, three others from these vehicles escaped from the spot after being injured critically.

On being informed, the fire tenders reached the spot and controlled the flames however, they could not save the drivers.

Meanwhile, police have reached the spot and launched a probe into the matter.
