Koraput-Rayagada Main Bridge Collapses Amid Heavy Rains

Koraput: Communication has been affected as the Bangalaguda bridge at Mastiput over river Padagada collapsed amid heavy rains on Tuesday.

This was the main route connection Koraput and Rayagada district and the bridge connected Koraput and Rayagada through NH 326.

On being informed about the incident, the district administration swung into action and warned commuters to avoid any mishaps.

Reportedly, amid peak flood situation in the Mahanadi river basin, Odisha is likely to experience another low pressure over the Bay of Bengal (BoB).

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that the low-pressure system may form over the Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas around August 18.
