Odisha Cabinet Greenlights State Work IT Upgrade, Allocates ₹491 Cr to OUAT

Bhubaneswar: In a significant development, the Odisha Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, approved three key proposals during its Friday session. The Cabinet decided to defer the earlier resolution allowing the transfer of tribal land to non-tribals, opting instead to submit the matter for reconsideration by the Tribes Advisory Council.

Additionally, two proposals from the Department of Electronics and Information Technology and the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment received the green light. The first proposal involves upgrading the Odisha State Workflow Automation System (OSWAS), an advanced IT solution designed to enhance transparency and accountability in government transactions. This automation streamlines administrative functions at all government levels, facilitating efficient service delivery and expediting decision-making. The proposed improvements align with the 5T framework, aiming to elevate governance efficiency and establish a citizen-friendly transparent system.

Furthermore, the Cabinet approved a budget of Rs 491.41 crore for the urgent repair, renovation, and reconstruction of infrastructure at the Odisha International School of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT). The allocated funds are earmarked for expenditure between 2023-24 and 2027-28. This investment underscores the government’s commitment to fostering educational infrastructure and ensuring a conducive learning environment at OUAT.
