Odisha Cabinet Approves 13 Key Proposals: LED Lighting, Public Outreach & More

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, cleared 13 key proposals, driving initiatives across LED lighting, rural outreach, public transport, and vital services like water supply and firefighting.

Key Highlights:

• LED Lighting Project: Rs 312.18 crore allocated for tendering of energy-efficient streetlights.
• Srimandir Parikrama Project: Rs 155 crore earmarked for IEC activities and mobilization for the project’s inauguration in Puri next January.
• Gram Panchayat Level IEC: Each panchayat to receive Rs 3 lakh for promoting state welfare schemes (Rs 203.82 crore total).
• Electric Bus Fleet Expansion: CRUT greenlights procurement of 200 new electric buses for enhanced urban mobility in Bhubaneswar.
• Strengthening Drinking Water Supply: Creation of 365 JE and 91 AEE posts approved to bolster urban water infrastructure.
• Odisha Treasury Restructuring: Streamlining of Odisha Treasury Ministerial Cadre and Odisha Subordinate Finance Service (Treasury Branch) Cadre for improved efficiency.
• Age Limit Relaxation for Govt Jobs: Upper age limit extended to 38 years for 2024 recruitments, providing wider accessibility.
