Odisha Set to Sizzle Under Heatwave for 4 Consecutive Days

Bhubaneswar: Heatwave conditions are expected to persist in several districts of Odisha, including Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Balangir, Boudh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.

The India Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, and Khurda until 8:30 am on Sunday.

Additionally, there is a possibility of thunderstorms with lightning in Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Angul, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri districts. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in North Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, and other parts of the state.

The IMD forecasts a slight decrease in day temperatures in the coming days, but there will be no significant change initially.

Looking ahead, on June 14, there is a warning for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds in several districts, including Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Angul, Dhenkanal, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.
