PM Modi Expresses Grief Over Tragic Train Accident in Odisha

Balasore: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over a major train accident in Odisha, where a significant number of casualties have been reported with at least 300 people injured and many feared dead.

The Prime Minister immediately reached out to Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to gather information about the incident and ensure that all necessary measures are taken to aid the affected individuals.

The tragic incident occurred when the Coromandel Express, en route from Kolkata to Chennai, collided with the derailed coaches of the Yashwantpur-Howrah Superfast Express, travelling from Bengaluru to Kolkata, as stated by Amitabh Sharma, the spokesperson for the Railway Ministry.

To assist those affected by the accident, helpline numbers have been provided by the authorities. The rescue operations are being carried out with the support of over a hundred personnel from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
