2 Sisters Drown While Bathing in Pond in Odisha’s Puri

Puri: A tragic incident unfolded in Odisha’s Puri district on Thursday, as two sisters lost their lives in a drowning accident.

Reports suggest that the sisters, identified as Rekha Baral and Subhasri Baral, had gone to the pond around noon when they slipped into deep water and drowned. When they didn’t return home after an extended period, their family members grew worried and launched a search. The search party made a devastating discovery, finding Rekha and Subhasri unconscious in the pond.

The villagers rushed the sisters to the Gop Community Health Centre (CHC), but the doctor on duty declared them dead on arrival.

Police have registered a case of unnatural death and are currently investigating the incident.
