Smuggled Gold, Silver Worth Over Rs 3 Cr Seized In Berhampur

Berhampur: A huge amount of smuggled gold and silver worth about Rs 3.10 crore have been seized by police officials from a vehicle in Berhampur on Sunday.

While performing checking duty, Golanthara Police detained a suspicious vehicle and found the smuggled metals from the secret chambers.

According to police, around 4.66 kilograms of gold and 185 kilograms of silver ornaments being illegally transported from Tamil Nadu to Berhampur were seized.

“Early morning, Golanthara PS staff while performing Naka & checking duty detained a suspicious vehicle. While searching 4.664 kg #Gold & 185.5 kg #silver were found from secret chambers. Seized goods worth is around 3.10 crores. Further investigation going on,” tweeted the Berhampur SP.
