Speculations Rife As Dharmendra Alludes Early Elections In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday hinted at the possibility that general elections in Odisha might be held earlier than planned.

Pradhan said he has heard that the general elections may be held early in the State while speaking on the sidelines of an event in Bhubaneswar.

Pradhan made this remark when asked whether the outcome of the Padampur byelection would have any bearing on the general election scheduled for 2024, Pradhan responded in the negative.

“The general elections still have a long way to go. There will be several problems. As is customary in democracies, parties will campaign for votes based on their agendas. We battled in 2019 as well, and we now dominate the State’s opposition,” Pradhan declared.

We are fighting while juggling all of our obligations and goals, he continued. I firmly believe that Prime Minister Narendra Modi enjoys tremendous support from the people of Odisha, and we would act accordingly to further the State’s development.

The Union Minister stated, “What we had thought has not materialized, regarding the outcome in Padampur. In Padampur, however, we comply with the directive. It’s only natural for the victor to boast. They must remember that the BJP received 78,000 votes, nevertheless.
