30 Platoons of Police to be Deployed for Odisha Assembly’s Monsoon Session

Bhubaneswar: Commissionnerate Police tightened the security in the capital city ahead of the Odisha Legislative Assembly’s monsoon session starting on Friday. Odisha DGP Sunil Bansal reviewed the security arrangements on Thursday.

As part of the security arrangement, armed Special Operations Group (SOG) jawans are being deployed for the first time.
During the Assembly session, no organisation will be allowed to hold protest demonstrations near the Assembly. Elaborate security arrangements have also been made at Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar.

A total of 30 platoons of police force will be deployed for the security of the Assembly, informed Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh. The entire security arrangement will be under the direct supervision of the Bhubaneswar DCP.

“I have reviewed the entire security arrangement today. The Chief of Intelligence and other senior officials briefed me about the security arrangements. We are fully confident that the session will be completed without any hassle,” the DGP said.
