ICC Men’s T20I Rankings: Axar Patel Rockets to Career-Best 5th, Jaiswal Breaks Into Top 10

In the latest ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings update, Axar Patel has achieved a career-best fifth position among bowlers. Patel’s impressive performances in India’s victories over Afghanistan, with figures of 2-23 and 2-16 in the first two T20Is, also propelled him two places to 16th among all-rounders.

Opener Yashaswi Jaiswal climbed seven positions to a career-best sixth after his impactful 34-ball 68 in the first T20I against Afghanistan. Shivam Dube, with back-to-back unbeaten knocks of 60 and 63, made a substantial jump from 265th to 58th in the rankings.

New Zealand’s Finn Allen, showcasing stellar performances with innings of 34 off 15 balls and 74 off 41 balls, rose 11 places to 16th among batters. Tim Southee, the Kiwi pacer, climbed eight places to 18th in the bowlers’ list after claiming six wickets in the first two matches against Pakistan.

Among other notable advancements, Shubman Gill moved up seven places to 60th among batters, Tilak Verma rose three places to joint-61st among batters, and Arshdeep Singh climbed four places to 21st among bowlers for India. Afghanistan’s Najibullah Zadran and Mohammad Nabi also saw improvements in their batting rankings.

Pakistan’s Babar Azam secured the fourth position, moving up one spot after consistent performances with consecutive half-centuries against New Zealand. Fakhar Zaman made a significant leap of 14 places to 81st in the rankings.

Sri Lankan spinners Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana jointly claimed the third position in the bowling rankings, each moving up one and two places, respectively. Pakistan’s Haris Rauf and New Zealand’s Adam Milne also witnessed advancements in their bowling positions.
