Odisha to Witness Scattered Showers Over Next 2 Days: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department’s regional centre in Bhubaneswar has forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in certain districts of Odisha over the next three days. According to the mid-day bulletin, minimum temperatures have witnessed a noticeable rise in some areas of Interior Odisha, with appreciable increases in North Odisha and South Coastal Odisha. The temperatures remained largely unchanged elsewhere in the region, with variations observed in comparison to normal levels.

The bulletin highlights that the highest maximum temperature of 31.8°C was recorded in Paralakhemundi, while the lowest minimum temperature of 8.5°C was noted in Sundargarh in the plains of Odisha.

Wednesday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 18.01.2024):
– Light to moderate rain/thundershower expected in Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara.
– Light rain/thundershower likely in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda.
– Dry weather likely in the rest of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog expected in Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Jharsuguda.

**Thursday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 18.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 19.01.2024):**
– Light to moderate rain/thundershower anticipated in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak.
– Light rain/thundershower likely in Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur.
– Dry weather expected in the rest of Odisha.
