BCCI Extends Support as Virat Kohli Pulls Out of First Two England Tests for Personal Reasons

Mumbai: Indian cricket stalwart Virat Kohli has decided to opt out of the first two Test matches against England due to personal reasons, as announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday. In an official statement, the BCCI revealed that Kohli had discussions with captain Rohit Sharma and the team management, expressing the need for his withdrawal.

The statement emphasized Kohli’s commitment to representing the country while acknowledging that certain personal situations require his undivided attention. Kohli had previously missed the first T20I against Afghanistan and an intra-squad match in South Africa for similar reasons.

The BCCI urged the media to refrain from speculating on the nature of Kohli’s personal reasons and assured that his replacement for the upcoming Tests would be announced soon. The board expressed support for Kohli’s decision and confidence in the remaining squad’s ability to step up and perform well in the series.
