India W Vs England W: England Overcome India To Stay Top Of Group 2

Gqeberha: England beat India by 11 runs at St George’s Park in Gqeberha, South Africa in their Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 match.

Chasing the target of 152 runs, India managed to score only 140 runs for five wickets in 20 overs.

Smriti Mandhana scored the highest 52 runs for India while Sarah Glenn took two wickets for England.

Mandhana’s 52 from 41 was the top score in the reply, with Richa Ghosh finishing unbeaten on 47* from 34.

But only one other Indian batter reached double figures as they fell 11 runs short of the target.

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bowl. England scored 151 for 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

England came into the game talking up their attacking philosophy, and kept playing shots despite the loss of those two early wickets.

Nat Sciver-Brunt scored the highest 50 runs for England, while Renuka Singh scalped five wickets for India.
