IPL 2023: Punjab Stun Chennai At Chepauk To Register Nail-Biting Victory

Chennai: Punjab Kings defeated Chennai Super Kings by four wickets in a stunning victory at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday. This was Match number 41 of the IPL 2023 season, and it is safe to say that it was a nail-biter!

Chasing 201, PBKS eventually accomplished it on the last ball while losing 6 wickets on the way. Prabhsimran Singh, Liam Livingstone, and Sam Curran all chipped in with the bat, with Singh tallying 42 runs, Livingstone 40, and Curran 29. Sikandar Raza’s innings, though, was what carried Punjab to victory.

Tushar Deshpande (3/49) and Ravindra Jadeja (2/32), respectively, were CSK’s top two bowlers.

CSK got off to a strong start batting first as Gaikwad and Conway’s opening partnership put on 57/0 in the power-play with their adept shot choices. The duo sped up the tempo of the innings with crucial hits after a few quiet overs.

In the meantime, MS Dhoni put the finishing touches on CSK’s innings. In the final two balls of the final over, he hit two consecutive sixes.

Arshdeep Singh, Sam Curran, Rahul Chahar, and Sikandar Raza all took a wicket each for PBKS. At the conclusion of their inning, CSK had amassed 200 runs in 20 overs while losing four wickets.
