Mahika Gaur Makes History with Second International Debut for England

London: Mahika Gaur made history on Friday when she made her international debut for England in a T20I against Sri Lanka. The 17-year-old, who was born in Reading, England, but played for the United Arab Emirates until this year, took her maiden international wicket, dismissing Chamari Athapaththu.

Gaur, who is 6ft 3in tall, is a left-arm seamer who is known for her ability to swing the ball. She is also a handy lower-order batter.

England captain Heather Knight was full of praise for Gaur after the match. “Mahika was brilliant on her debut,” said Knight. “She had to move to death bowling after the rain and she executed her plan perfectly. At that height, she gets real late swing which is quite a weapon.”

Gaur, who admires cricket legends MS Dhoni and Mitchell Starc, aspires to become a top-notch fast bowler and emulate the finishing skills of Dhoni.

Gaur’s international debut comes at a time when England are looking to rebuild their women’s cricket team. The team has struggled in recent years, and they are hoping that Gaur can be one of the players to help them get back to their best.

Gaur is a talented cricketer with a bright future ahead of her. She is already making a name for herself in the world of cricket, and she is sure to be a key player for England in the years to come.
