Ronaldo Breaches New Record: Nets Career’s 700th Club Goal

Liverpool: Cristiano Ronaldo achieved a new milestone on Sunday night in the Premier League when he scored the 700th club goal of his career while playing as a ‘substitute’ for Manchester United against Everton.

It was Ronaldo’s 144th goal for United throughout the course of two stints at the club.

In an illustrious career, the Portuguese forward has also scored 450 goals for Real Madrid, 101 goals for Juventus, and five goals for Sporting Lisbon which contribute in taking the number to 700.

However, Ronaldo once more started on the bench before replacing Anthony Martial. The 29th minute saw Ronaldo enter the arena.

In the 44th minute, the 37-year-old Portuguese striker pounced on a through ball from Casemiro and slid a finish under Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, to get to the milestone. In the end, it also proved the match-winning goal for the Red Devils, who clinched the game 2-1.

The ace footballer acknowledged the feat by thanking his teammates, coaches, clubs, family and, friends in a tweet.
