Sensational SKY, Bowlers Guide India To 65-Run Win Vs Blackcaps

Suryakumar Yadav smashed the second century of his T20I career followed by a spirited bowling performance by the bowlers saw Team India defeat New Zealand by 65 runs in the 2nd T20I of the three-match series on Sunday.

With this win, Team India have gained a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

191 proved too much in the end for New Zealand, who were never really in the hunt as their batters kept coming and going with only Williamson trying to stitch things together.

The New Zealand captain’s knock of 61 off 52 came under the scanner as he struggled to get going, putting pressure on the rest of the batting line-up.

Big hitters like Glenn Phillips and James Neesham were under pressure to get going from the word go and it did not help their cause.

For India, Deepak Hooda returned with four wickets.

Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav’s unbeaten 111-run knock guided Team India to 191/6 in 20 overs. Apart from Suryakumar, Ishan Kishan also played a knock of 36 runs off 31 balls.

For New Zealand, Tim Southee took a hat-trick in the last over while Lockie Ferguson also scalped two wickets.
