Tesla Begins Production of Dojo Supercomputer for Autonomous Vehicles

Tesla has begun production of Dojo, its custom-built supercomputer designed to train its fleet of autonomous vehicles.

Dojo is powered by Tesla-designed chips and has a targeted exaflop capability, making it one of the most powerful supercomputers in the world.

Tesla believes that Dojo will allow it to train its neural nets faster and more cost-effectively, which will help it to advance its autonomous vehicle capabilities.

The company plans to assemble a full Dojo cluster or “exapod” with exceptional processing power exceeding an exaflop. The projected timeline for the complete cluster is now expected to be early 2024.

By developing the essential technology pillars internally, Tesla is positioning itself to advance autonomous vehicle capabilities and lead the industry in cutting-edge AI solutions.

The company’s dedication to in-house innovation demonstrates its commitment to pushing the boundaries of self-driving technology.
