Bus Driver, Conductor Bite Ear, Finger of Passenger in UP

Lucknow: Following a dispute over seating arrangement on a UP Roadways bus, its driver and conductor allegedly bit the ear and finger of a passenger.

The victim, Kuldeep Kumar of Sidhauli in Sitapur lost a portion of his left hand’s little finger, part of ear, a gold chain and Rs 19,600 in the incident that occurred on Thursday.

According to the complaint lodged by him, he boarded the bus from Kaiserbagh bus station, Lucknow. When the conductor asked him to me seat on another seat instead of the seat he had booked, he protested. The conductor asked him to get off the bus. This led to an altercation. It is alleged that the driver, conductor of their bus and their aides started beating the passenger. One of them then bit his ears and the little finger of his left hand and other body parts. He alleged that his gold chain and Rs 19,600 cash were also looted.

Meanwhile, police have arrested the concerned driver Sharan Mishra and conductor Mohammed Riyaz. The UPSRTC has also taken cognisance of the incident and issued a notice to the two.
