AAP Lambasts ED for Claiming Arvind Kejriwal’s Phone ‘Missing’

New Delhi: Delhi’s ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has vehemently opposed allegations by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) suggesting that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal disposed of his old phone, potentially containing evidence related to an alleged liquor scam. The ED, conducting the investigation, claims that 170 phones were discarded by witnesses to erase evidence.

AAP dismissed these claims yesterday, asserting that the investigation seems biased, alleging it’s being influenced by the BJP office. They criticized the ED, labelling it as BJP’s political ally.

Delhi minister Atishi emphasized that the ED is supposed to be an independent investigative agency. She urged the ED to present any findings in court through a chargesheet rather than making speculative claims.

Atishi emphasized the importance of upholding the constitution and laws, reminding the ED that they are an independent entity established by the country’s laws, not subordinate to any political party.

Sources within the ED disclosed yesterday that the phone used by Kejriwal during the period of the alleged scam is missing. Kejriwal, when questioned, stated he doesn’t know its whereabouts.

Kejriwal, arrested on Thursday evening, remains in ED custody until March 28 for further questioning.
