10 Arrested In Ganjam As Police Foil Robbery Bid

Berhampur: Patpur police in Ganjam district has foiled a robbery attempt with the arrest of ten members of a robbery gang.

Police have seized a variety of weapons including 3 swords, 6 live crude bombs, 2 motorcycles, 2 torches, 2 packets of chilli powder, etc. from their possession.

According to police sources, ten members of a robbery gang were nabbed by Patapur police from a bus shelter near P Ramchandrapur chowk on Tuesday night.

Members of the robbery gang were caught by a night patrolling team of the Patapur police while it was planning to rob travellers on the national highway.

During the raid, while 4-5 members of the gang managed to flee, 10 were caught, police sources said.

Seven of those caught have a variety of criminal cases against their names in various police stations of Ganjam district, the sources added.
