Dhabaleswar Hanging Bridge Caps Limit After Morbi Bridge Tragedy

Cuttack: The local administration of Athagarh in Cuttack district has reduced the capacity of the suspension bridge to the famous Dhabaleswar temple in wake of the Morbi bridge Tragedy in Gujarat on Sunday.

The number has been limited to 200 devotees crossing the bridge at a time.

An expert team from Kolkata has been given the charge to carry out a detailed inspection of the suspension bridge over the Mahanadi river that connects the centuries-old Lord Shiva temple.

As per the team’s recommendation, the administration has reduced the number of visitors to minimize the pressure on the bridge.

Sub-collector Hemanta Kumar Swain has requested people to abstain from visiting the temple during the busy festive season.
