2 Killed 3 Injured as Truck Hits Car & Bike in Ganjam’s Khallikote

Bhubaneswar: Two persons died and three others were injured in a road accident involving a truck, a car and a bike in the Khallikote area of Odisha’s Ganjam district on Sunday night.

A truck, transporting edible oil from Andhra Pradesh’s Palasa to Kolkata in West Bengal, lost control and overturned on NH-16 after hitting a car and a bike at Haridamula under Khallikote police station.

The truck driver identified as Narasingh Rao (45) died on the spot. Bishnupriya Patra, who was riding pillion on the bike also breathed her last in this accident.

Bishnupriya’s brother Ramchandra Prusti, her son Ashutosh and truck helper Jayram were seriously injured.

They were initially admitted to Khallikote Community Health Centre (CHC) and then were shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur as their condition deteriorated.
