2-Yr-Old Child Falls into Open Borewell in Karnataka, Rescue Operation On

Bengaluru: A 2-year-old boy named Satwik Mujagond child fell into a borewell in Karnataka’s Lachayan village in Vijayapura district on Wednesday evening.

Rescue operations are underway to rescue him. He is trapped at a depth of 15–20 feet.

According to the police, while playing the child fell into the uncovered borewell, which was drilled at agricultural land owned by the child’s father, Satish Mujagond.

Operations to rescue the child started at around 6.30 pm on Wednesday. Pipes have been inserted into the well to supply oxygen to the child. Latest video footage showed the child moving his feet.

The rescue team has dug up to some distance, which they will use to lay a 5-foot tunnel to reach the child. Hard rocks and boulders, however, may hinder the operation.

Karnataka Minister MB Patil took to X to inform that he has instructed the Vijayapura district administration to conduct an operation at a “rapid pace” and also prayed for the toddler’s safe reunion with his parents.
