Anti-Poacher Crackdown in Similipal, 21 Arrested, 165 Guns Seized

Baripada: Initiating a major anti-poacher crackdown, the Mayurbhanj district police arrested 21 poachers and seized 165 guns from their possession in the past two months. This effort is continuing under poacher-free Similipal campaign.

This major operation was conducted at different places in 14 police station areas. This major crackdown follows the death of two forest personnel at the hands of wildlife criminals in Similipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district

Apart from the guns, police also seized gunpowder, pangolin scales, and deer antlers from possession of arrested poachers.
