Baitarani Crosses Danger Mark at Akhuapada of Bhadrak Dist

Bhadrak: Because of the recent incessant rains, the water level in the Baitarani river is on the rise. It crossed the danger mark at Akhuapada in Bhadrak district on Saturday.

According to reports, the river flowed at 17.88 mts on Saturday at Akhuapada, while the danger mark at the spot is 17.83 mts. Because of it, the probability of a moderate flood in Baitarani has increased.

Floodwater is flowing in the Baitarani for the second time this monsoon season. As the IMD has predicted a fall in rainfall in Odisha from Saturday, the fear of a major flood is averted.

According to the IMD, there is no forecast of major rainfall activities in the next 4 to 5 days.

But there is a yellow warning for heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) for one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, and Sundargarh on Saturday.
