Security Heightened at Jaipur, Kanpur, Goa Airports Amid Bomb Threat Emails

New Delhi: Jaipur, Kanpur, and Goa airport authorities scrambled to heighten security measures on Monday after receiving bomb threats via email, officials said. Authorities suspect the emails are a hoax, but are taking no chances.

Goa’s Dabolim airport received the threatening email via their official channels, leading to a immediate response from the police and bomb squad. Despite the heightened security, flight operations remain unaffected, assured airport director SVT Dhanamjaya Rao.

Similarly, the Jaipur International Airport Director reported receiving a threat mail, triggering a search operation. Thankfully, nothing suspicious has been discovered thus far.

In Uttar Pradesh, Kanpur Airport also bolstered security measures in response to the threat.

This recent scare follows a spate of similar incidents on April 26, affecting multiple airports including Kolkata and Jaipur. Swift action from various agencies led to the arrest of one individual by the Mumbai Police.

Efforts to track down the culprits behind these malicious emails are underway, with authorities coordinating across state lines and the technical cell of the city police actively investigating the matter.
