Case Against Sanjay Raut for Writing Article Against PM Modi in ‘Saamana’

Mumbai: A case has been filed against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut by Yavatmal Police for writing an “objectionable” article against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’.

BJP’s Yavatmal convener Nitin Bhutada filed this complaint against Sanjay Raut, who is the executive editor of the ‘Saamana’. The concerned article was published on December 11.

As per the complaint made by the BJP leader regarding the “objectionable” article against PM Modi, a case was registered against Raut under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 153 (A) (promoting enmity between different groups), 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) (2) and 124 (A) (attempts to bring into hatred or contempt) at Umarkhed police station.

Reacting to it, the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader, in his statement, said, “A case has been registered against me because I spoke against the Prime Minister. There is still democracy in the country.”

“BJP is turning into Congress. Central leadership decides who will be chief minister,” Sanjay Raut said.
