New Delhi: After intense discussions, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge was decided to be the chairperson of opposition bloc INDIA, reported NDTV.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who was said to be a key contender for the post, in Saturday’s virtual meet, suggested that someone from the Congress should take charge of the top post of the INDIA bloc.
INDIA or ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ is a group of opposition parties, including the Congress. Saturday’s virtual meeting was attended by representatives from all parties, except for Trinamool Congress and Samajwadi Party.
INDIA bloc faces the major stumbling block of the issue of seat-sharing between all the parties in the fold.
