Congress Forms 59-Member Campaign Committee for Twin Elections in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has formed a 59-member campaign committee for its Odisha unit in preparation for the upcoming twin polls in the state. Former Union Minister Bhakta Charan Das has been appointed as the chairman of the Congress campaign committee for Odisha, with Navajyoti Patnaik serving as vice-chairman and Sudhanshu Sekhar Deo as the convenor.

The committee comprises prominent figures including Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Sarat Pattanayak, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Narasingha Mishra, former Chief Minister Giridhar Gamang, former Union Ministers KP Singhdeo and Srikant Jena, as well as former OPCC presidents Niranjan Patnaik, Jaydev Jena, and Prasad Harichandan.

 

Additionally, former MP Rama Chandra Khuntia, bureaucrat-turned-politician Bijay Kumar Patnaik, Koraput MP Saptagiri Ulaka, and former ministers Panchanan Kanungo, Sarat Rout, Jagannath Patnaik, and Bijaylaxmi Sahoo have been enlisted as members of the Congress campaign committee.

Notably, all Congress MLAs in Odisha, chiefs of party frontal organizations, and presidents of District Congress Committees (DCCs) in Odisha hold ex-officio positions within the panel.
