New Delhi: A man named Gurpreet Sigh was arrested by the Delhi Police on Saturday in connection with the murder of a 30-year-old Swiss woman.
The body of the deceased was recovered from West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar area with her hands and legs tied with metal chains. The upper part of the body was covered by a garbage bag. The accused had befriended the 30-year-old deceased Swiss woman. Both were in a long-distance relationship and Gurpreet would often visit Switzerland to meet her.
But he suspected that she was having an affair with someone else and therefore killed her, say investigating police officials.
Initial interrogation revealed that the accused called up the Swiss woman to India. He tied tied the woman’s limbs on the pretext of performing a magic trick on her, and then killed her.
Police also recovered Rs 2.25 crore from Gurpreet’s house. Further investigations are underway.
