Former President Pratibha Patil Hospitalized

Mumbai: Former President of India, Pratibha Patil, has been hospitalised in Pune in Maharashtra due to chest infection and fever.

The 89-year-old was admitted to Pune’s Bharati Hospital on Wednesday night.

According to official sources, her condition is now stable.

The former President’s health is “being monitored closely”. Pratibha Patil was the 12th President of India. She was India’s first woman President from 2007 to 2012. She was also the Lok Sabha MP from Amravati in Maharashtra from 1991 to 1996, and then as the Governor of Rajasthan from 2004 to 2007. She was the first woman Governor of Rajasthan.
