India’s Richest Woman Savitri Jindal Joins BJP Along With Daughter

New Delhi: Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, India’s richest woman, Savitri Jindal joined the BJP on Thursday along with her daughter Seema Jindal.

A day back former Haryana minister Savitri Jindal resigned from the Congress.

In her social media post on Wednesday, 84-year-old Savitri Jindal wrote, “I represented the people of Hisar for 10 years as an MLA and have served Haryana state selflessly as a minister. The people of Hisar are my family and on the advice of my family, I am resigning from the primary membership of the Congress today.”

Her son Naveen Jindal, a former MP, also resigned from the Congress and joined the BJP. He is contesting as a BJP candidate from Kurukshetra.

Jindal won from Kurukshetra Lok Sabha seat in 2004 and 2009 on a Congress ticket. In the 2014 general elections, he was defeated by then BJP’s Raj Kumar Saini and he did not contest the 2019 elections.

His father, late OP Jindal was the power minister in the Haryana government and his mother Savitri Jindal was a minister in the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government.
