Live Pangolin Seized in Rairangpur, Eight Wild Life Smugglers Arrested

Baripada: A live pangolin was rescued from the clutches of wildlife smugglers in Rairangpur of Mayurbhanj district by a joint team of the Similipal Tiger Conservation Project personnel and the Forest department staff. Eight persons involved in the smuggling of the rescued pangolin were arrested.

On Wednesday morning this joint team raided a lodge in Rairangpur to recover the pangolin and arrest eight persons in connection with wildlife smuggling.

The wildlife smugglers were making a deal for the pangolin with the buyers at the lodge when the raid took place.

A Bolero vehicle, one scooter, and eight mobile phones were seized from the arrested persons.
