More Seats in Plus 2 Institutions in Odisha to Accommodate High Pass Rate in Matric Exam this Year

Bhubaneswar: Seats in Plus 2 institutions in Odisha will be increased this year to accommodate more students. Odisha government made an official declaration regarding it on Tuesday.

The school and mass education minister and department secretary announced that the seats in the higher secondary institutions will be increased from 2023-24 academic year. The decision was taken in view of a higher pass percentage in Matriculation or the Class 10 board examination this year. The Minister said that the seats will be increased as per the necessity.

On May 20, the concerned minister had hinted that Odisha government is considering increasing the number of seats for Plus 2 courses in higher secondary schools after achieving an impressive 96.4% pass percentage in the annual Matriculation examination.

The results, declared on May 18, showcased a significant improvement compared to last year’s pass percentage of 90.55%.

School and Mass Education Minister Pramila Mallik shared this information on May 20, and assured the public that necessary measures would be taken to ensure that students do not face any difficulties.
