One Worker Killed, 2 Injured in Explosion at Steel Plant in Rourkela

Rourkela: A worker was killed and two others seriously injured in a sudden explosion at a steel plant located in IDC Kalunga area of Odisha’s Rourkela on Thursday morning.

According to sources, this early morning blast occurred at the furnace of the steel plant.

The deceased was identified as Chinmaya Behera of Jajpur. The two injured, Parameswar Kishan of Rourkela and Abhishek Kumar of Bihar were rushed to a private hospital in Vedvyas. Receiving information, personnel of the Brahmani Tarang police station rushed to the spot to start an investigation.

The reason behind the blast is yet to be ascertained.
