Repo Rate Kept Unchanged at 6.5%, Growth Projection Increased to 7%: RBI Governor

New Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India monetary policy committee has decided to keep the policy repo rate unchanged at 6.5 per cent, said RBI governor Shaktikanta Das on Friday.

Announcing the bi-monthly monetary policy, Das said the MPC unanimously decided to keep the repo rate unchanged at 6.5 per cent.

“…The Monetary Policy Committee decided unanimously to keep the policy repo rate unchanged at 6.5%. Consequently, the Standing Deposit Facility rate remains at 6.25% and the Marginal Standing Facility rate and the Bank Rate at 6.75%,” he said.

He also informed that the growth projection of the country has been raised to 7 per cent for the current financial year from 6.5 per cent projected earlier. The RBI projected the Consumer Price-based Inflation (CPI) based retail inflation at 5.4 per cent for the current fiscal.
