Scuffle Between PG Student & Security Guard Makes VIMSAR Campus Tense

Bhubaneswar: Tension prevailed on the campus of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla in Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Thursday after a scuffle between a postgraduate student and a security guard.

The security guard and the student suffered minor injuries. As per reports, the security guard and the postgraduate student exchanged blows following a heated altercation. Later the brother of the security guard also reached VIMSAR in support of his brother. Some others also suffered injuries in the chaotic situation.

Several postgraduate students of the medical college reached the spot and staged demonstration demanding the removal of the company providing security guards to VIMSAR.

VIMSAR Superintendent Lalmohan Nayak assured that proper action would be initiated after discussing the matter with both parties.

Extra police forces have been deployed on the medical college campus to prevent further escalation of tension.”
