Shocking Superstition! Dead Child Branded for Resurrection in Keonjhar

Keonjhar: Superstitious family members of a dead girl child reportedly branded the body with hot metal in an attempt to resurrect her at Purandapur village under Turamunga police station limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.

As per reports, diarrhoea claimed the lives of two daughters of Tankadhar Maharana of Purandapur village. One of the girls, Itishree died while being transported to the Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital, while Lipi breathed her last while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Swayed by their superstitious belief, Tankadhar and other members of the family made a desperate attempt to bring Lipi back to life by branding her body with red hot metal. But it drew no results.

Receiving information about the superstitious act, a police team reached the village and initiated an investigation.
