Delhi Excise Policy Scam: AAP Leader Manish Sisodia Denied Bail By Supreme Court

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has rejected the bail pleas of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia in cases related to corruption and money laundering connected to the Delhi liquor policy. The court’s decision was based on the preliminary establishment of a money trail totalling Rs 338 crore.

Sisodia has been in custody since February 26 in connection with the alleged “scam.” Both the CBI and the ED have asserted that the revised policy favoured ineligible parties for liquor licenses, resulting in cartelization and financial gains. However, Sisodia and the Delhi government have consistently denied any wrongdoing.

The Supreme Court has emphasized that the prosecution has promised to conclude the trial within six to eight months. If the trial progresses slowly or ineffectively within three months, Sisodia will have the option to reapply for bail.
