Two Illegal Arms Traders Arrested in Bhubaneswar, 5 Semi-Automatic Pistols, Ammunition Seized

Bhubaneswar: Two youths involved in illegal arms trading were arrested by the Commissionerate Police on Wednesday. The arrested persons were identified as Suraj Parida and Tapudhar Nayak. Parida has completed his diploma in Electricals.

Police recovered 5 semi-automatic pistols, 24 rounds of live ammunition, mobile phones and magazines from the possession of the arrested persons after conducting raids at several places in Bhubaneswar including Tamando and Hanspal areas.

Ahead of the upcoming elections, Commissionerate Police has started a drive to bust illegal firearms trading rackets in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

In 2023, Commissionerate Police seized 38 firearms from Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. Till now in 2024, police have seized 17 firearms from the twin city.
