With 3 More COVID Positives Odisha’s Active Cases Reach 8

Bhubaneswar: Three more COVID-19-positive cases were detected in Odisha during the past 24 hours. With it, the total active cases in the state rose to eight.

These eight COVID-19-infected persons have been identified in Odisha in the last eight days.

According to State Public Health Director Niranjan Mishra, 690 samples were tested during the last 24 hours, of which only three were found positive. All active cases are in home isolation and they do not have any critical symptoms. There is nothing to panic about, he added.

In an advisory, the Health and Family Welfare Department of Odisha has urged people especially the elderly and those with co-morbidities to use facemasks while going out in view of the emergence of the JN.1 variant of Covid-19.

According to experts, people should remain alert even though the cases with the new JN.1 variant are mild.
