Greek Woman Starts 2 Wildfires To Watch Firefighters in Action And “Flirt With Them”

A 44-year-old woman in Greece was arrested for intentionally starting two wildfires as “she enjoyed watching firefighters in action and wanted to flirt with them”.

According to the Greek Reporter, the woman started the wildfires on August 24 and 25 on farmland in Kerasitsa. The Greek fire department in a statement noted that her actions were not only repeated but also posed a significant threat to the area.

The woman did it because “she enjoyed watching firefighters and flirting with them,” the fire department said in a statement, as per Greek Reporter.

The woman was spotted at both fire sites, prompting an investigation that nailed her. She was arrested on August 26. She has been convicted to 36 months in prison and has to pay a fine of 1,000 euro.

In another incident, a 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of starting three fires intentionally from August 24 to 25 in the settlement of Ypsilon in Drama of Greece.
