Ameesha Patel Surrenders in Cheque Bounce Case Ahead of Gadar 2 Release

Ranchi: Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel has voluntarily surrendered before the Ranchi Civil Court on Saturday in relation to a case involving a bounced cheque. Subsequently, the court granted her conditional bail, while also requiring her physical presence for a hearing on June 21. The origins of the case trace back to 2018 when Ameesha visited Ranchi to attend an event at Harmu Ground.

During her visit, she had a discussion with businessman Ajay Kumar Singh regarding financing for a film project. Singh is the owner of Lovely World Entertainment and decided to invest in the venture. Unfortunately, the film failed to materialize, prompting Singh to demand the return of his invested funds. Ameesha issued a cheque worth Rs 2.50 Crore as repayment, but it ultimately bounced. This incident echoes a similar incident from November 2021 when Ameesha made headlines for another bounced cheque, this time amounting to Rs 32.25 lakh, issued to UTF Telefilms.

The timing of Ameesha’s surrender is noteworthy as she is preparing to make her highly anticipated return to the silver screen with ‘Gadar 2’, in which she will star alongside Sunny Deol.
