Woman Journo Assault Case: Ollywood Producer Tutu Nayak Granted Conditional Bail

Bhubaneswar: Odia film producer Sanjay Nayak, known as Tutu Nayak, was granted conditional bail today by the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court in Bhubaneswar. This decision came after the accused producer filed a bail petition. Sanjay was arrested on November 4 under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for alleged misbehaviour with a woman journalist and was subsequently sent to jail.

The court granted bail on the condition of a bailer and a security deposit of Rs 50,000. Earlier, the hearing of the case had been deferred to November 8. The court had also requested the case diary and any criminal antecedents of Sanjay.

The arrest took place following allegations that Sanjay had slapped and misbehaved with Debasmita Rout, a woman journalist, during the premier show of an Odia film at a cinema hall. It’s worth noting that Sanjay has already apologised in response to the accusations of slapping the journalist.
