Rajinikanth to Appear as Deva in ‘Coolie’

Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj on Monday dropped a new character poster of actor Rajinikanth for the upcoming film Coolie.

The poster hints that Rajinikanth will appear in the role of Deva in the film.

In the poster, Rajinikanth holds a coolie’s identification tag with the number 1421— the sole splash of colour in the otherwise monochrome image. He wears a dark shirt, with a dog tag around his neck.

Produced by Sun Pictures, Coolie also has Telugu star Nagarjuna, Kannada actor Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir.

In her character poster, Shruti is seen holding a shovel. Nagarjuna plays Simon, who is shown wearing a red scarf in his character poster. Sathyaraj is set to play Rajasekhar and has a red wire tangled around his hand in his character poster. Upendra’s character Kaleesha is shown with a fish hook as his accessory. Soubin Shahir is set to play Daya in the film, and is seen holding a gold watch in the character poster.

Coolie marks Lokesh Kanagaraj’s seventh directorial venture. He has already come up with blockbusters like Kaithi (2019), Vikram (2022) and Leo (2023).
