WATCH: Many Missing As Tanzania Plane Crashes Into Africa’s ‘Largest’ Lake Victoria

Dodoma: A passenger plane crashed into Tanzania’s Lake Victoria on Sunday. According to reports, 23 people have been rescued from the spot.

Video clips and images from the incident which went viral on social media as soon as they arrived showed that the plane came dangerously close to crashing into Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake.

According to the authorities, 23 passengers from the 49-passenger plane that was flying from Mwanza to Bukoba have been saved so far, while rescue efforts are still on to trace the others.

The largest privately owned airline in Tanzania, Precision Air, identified the aircraft as flight PW 494 and stated that it was ” involved in an accident as it was approaching Bukoba Airport”.
